Growing up as an only child in the small town of Bryceville, FL, Christy quickly developed a love for the written word. She would stay locked away in her room for hours, escaping loneliness in the pages of anything she could get her hands on. After discovering The Vampire Diaries, her attentions turned to that of a paranormal nature. Fascinated with the idea that a vampire could have a soul, she began to weave extravagant tales of love and loss in her head. Her eleventh grade English teacher, Ms. Wade encouraged her talent. Ms. Wade recognized that while Christy had trouble with grammar and spelling, she had a story to tell. Ms. Wade worked with her more than any teacher had before and helped her put the stories in her head on paper. She began writing her first novel in the summer of 2004. Seven chapters in, she hit a wall. Life got in the way and the story was put to the side. In the summer of 2008 she began telling the story of a girl named Emmy and a boy named Cale that was half based on her tumultuous senior year of high school. The Maldito trilogy was born. She is currently finishing the final two books in the Maldito series, Emmy’s Heart and Sarah’s Fate and has also begun to work on several other projects.
