Emmy's Song
Life is good for eighteen-year-old Emellia Ortega! Not many teenagers can say that, but Emmy isn’t your average teenager. On the fast track to making her dreams come true, she has her sights set on a scholarship to Berklee College of Music and nothing can stop her. Nothing, that is, except Cale Cruz. With perfect pitch and unbelievable good looks, he quickly weaves his way into the hearts of everyone around him. Drawn to him with an intensity she cannot explain, Emmy soon finds out that Cale has a secret. He is Maldito, half-human, half-vampire and has returned to seek revenge on the vampires that slaughtered his family.

Thrust deep into a world she never knew existed, Emmy will risk everything she has worked for to join Cale in his fight as tragedy slowly tears her perfect world apart. When a link between their past is discovered, fate’s perfect plan begins to spin a web around them stronger than anyone could have imagined. Together they tackle impossible situations, fight impossible battles, and embark on an impossible journey that will change both of their lives. But when love is stronger than death, anything is possible.

Emmy's Heart

The day she met him, Emmy thought she was meant to be with Cale Cruz. After discovering her blood was the cure to the curse his family had suffered generation after generation, she knew it was true. Now Emmy is the center of an ancient battle between vampires and Maldito, a race of half-vampire, half-humans, and is fighting for her own life. Betrayed and alone, Emmy will come face to face with the enemy, and the lines will blur. Caught between good and evil, she will have to make a decision which side she is on. Will her love for Cale help her to stay in the light or will her taste of darkness send her spiraling out of control to a place where no one can reach her? With each passing moment a choice is not made, the possibilities for disaster grow. But as we know, when love is stronger than death, anything is possible

Vampires chasing me, cure to an ancient curse, caught up in a primeval war? Yeah., welcome to my world. My name is Emellia Catarina Alejandra Ortega and this is the end of my story…

~Meet the Characters~

Emellia Catarina Alejandra Ortega

Born in Miami, Florida, surrounded by her family, Emmy is a very confident young lady. She is tenacious and full of spunk, a quality she gets from her abuela. She currently resides in Clifton Hills, Tennessee, with her mom, Erin and father, Juan. She loves to sing, read, and hang out with her best friends, Sarah Watts and Christopher Jacobs. She is presently enrolled in the Advanced Choral program at the Canson Academy for the Performing Arts. Her dream is to attend Berklee College of Music and obtain a degree in Musical Therapy. She hopes to use that degree to teach children about the therapeutic qualities of music.

Cale Fernando Cruz

Cale was born in Denton, Texas, under a full moon as all Maldito children are. Growing up half-human, half-vampire, he was taught from an early age how to use his abilities to protect humanity at all costs. Cale moved with his family to Clifton Hills, TN, when he was in elementary school. He quickly made friends and discovered his love for music. After the horrific murder of his sister, his family was forced to leave Clifton Hills to avoid putting the humans in anymore danger. Leaving him with his abuelo, his parents set out to slaughter the vampires that took their only daughter from them. They never returned. After years of trying to blend in, Cale now wants nothing more than to stand out and avenge the murder of his family. He has found the coven of vampires responsible for their death and has followed them back to Clifton Hills, TN. His plan is set in motion, and nothing can stop him.

Sarah Elizabeth Watts

Born and raised in Clifton Hills, Tennessee, Sarah Watts has everything going for her. She is a drop-dead beauty with an angelic voice and is lead soprano in the Advanced Choral program at the Canson Academy for the Performing Arts. Her days are spent with her two best friends, Chris Jacobs and Emmy Ortega. She dreams of becoming an actress and plans to move to Hollywood, CA, upon graduation. So long small town, hello Hollywood glamour.

Christopher Dale Jacobs

Fred Astaire, move over. Chris Jacobs is currently the most celebrated dance student at the Canson Academy for the Performing Arts. As a natural charmer, the majority of the faculty and student body love him but he prefers the company of his two best friends, Sarah Watts and Emmy Ortega. He plans to move to nearby Chattanooga upon graduation and open a dance academy that focuses on all aspects of dance including hip-hop, swing, and folk.
